Desafíos, Challenges

Lunes para mi, en escuela, como viernes, parecen que es un día facil. Tenemos clases de carrera o de vida y musica. Hay biología, filosophía, y matmaticas pero solamente por una hora. En educación física, ellos están aprendiendo una baile para un presentacion. Llegue un poquito tarde para empezar pero estoy viendo y aprendí partes. Tuve una prueba en biología y matmaticas. Pienso que ambos están buenas y el jueves tenemos fotos para el Year Book.

Mondays, for me, en escuela, like Friday, seems to be an easy day. We have classes of careers or life and music. There are biology, philosophy, and math but only for an hour. In gym, they are learning a dance for a presentation. I arrived a little to late to start but I am watching and learning parts. I had a quiz in biology and math. I think both went well and on Thursday we had picutures for the Year Book.

Tambien, comí una cosa muy diferent. Pensé que ellos fue una decoración en la mesa. jaja
Also, I ate a very different thing. I thought they were a decoration on the table. haha

Los palabras que se usa, son cortas. Como cuando estoy escuchando para "profesora" o "vamos", oigo "profe" y "vamo". Este semana, algunas veces, me senté que no sé nada. Puedo communicar qué yo quiero (la mayor parte del tiempo) pero no puedo entender mucho. Y con un resfriado, es ridiculo

The words that they use, son cortas. Like when I am listening for "profesor" or "vamos" (let's go"), I hear "profe"y "vamo". This week, sometimes, I felt that I didn't know anything. I can communicate what I want (most of the time) but I can't understand much. And with a cold, it's ridiculus.

Esta semana fue difícil. Tuve un resfriado y no fui a escuela el martes. Dormí para 16 horas hasta 9 en la mañana. El resfriado se me quedó para toda la semana. Probable, la razon que yo estoy tan cansada. Espero que se me vaya solo. Todo que yo quiero a hacer es sentarme con mi mama de EEUU porque se extraño mucho, mis amigos tambien. (Pienso que este es nostálgica para mi hogar.) Pero, todo solamente pueda estar mejor de acá.

This week was difficult. I had a cold and didn't go to school Tuesday. I slept for 16 hours until 9 in the morning. THe cold stuck with me for the whole week. Probably, the reason that I am so tired. I hope that it leaves me alone. All that I want to do is sit with my mama (of the US) becuase I miss her a lot, my friends as well. (Guess this is homesickness setting in.) But, all can only be better from here.

Muchas Cosas, Many Cosas

Vamos a escuela a las 7:50 de la mañana y tengo una clase, entonces tenemos un recreo de 20 minutos y este repite. (Tenemos una hora para almuerzo.) Mis clases incluen linguaje (español para español), matmáticas,química, biología, ingles, religión, filosofía, y música. El lunes, martes, y jueves, la escuela termina a las cuatro y viente de la tarde. El miercoles, termina a las tres y veinte y el viernes termina a las dos de la tarde. Los días son largos pero con los recreos no son terible. Tambien, no tenemos mucha tarea, solamente una cosa la mayor parte de los días, si tenemos alguna. Puedo aprender más en mis clases como biología porque las palabras pueden ser solamente de este clase. Entónces, no necesito pensar de todos las palabras en el mundo. Además, muchas palabras de íngles son muy acerca de los palabras de español, un poquito diferente in el pronunciado o accentos, pero escribe semejante.

We go to school at 7:50 am and I have a clase, then a break for 20 minutes and this repeats. (We have 1 hour for lunch) My clases include linguaje (Spanish for Spanish), math, chem, biology, english, religion, philosophy, and music. On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, school finishes at 4:20 pm. On Wednesday, school finishes at 3:20 pm and on Friday, at 2pm. The dias are long but with the recesses, they aren't terrible. Also, we don't have much homework, only one thing most of the days, if any. I can understand more in my classes like biology because the words can be only about this class. Then, I don't need to think of all the words in the world. Also, many words in English are very close to the words in Spanish, a little different in pronounciation or accents, but it spells similar.

La gente aquí son muy agradable. Pienso que aquí, he dado a personas más besos en sies días, que yo he dado en mi vida. El saludo es "hola!", entonces besamos en la mejilla. Todo la gente, esto inclue los profesores! Explique a una de mis compañeros cómo es diferente de los EEUU y ella estuvo sorprendida.

The people here are very friendly. I think that here, I have given to people, more kisses in 6 days than I have in my life. The greeting as well as goodbye are followed by a kiss on the cheek. Everyone, this includes the teachers! I explained to a classmate how it is different in the US and she was suprised.

Me ha preguntado si yo conocí Dracula. jaja Es porque Pennsylvania sona como Transylvania. En la clase de íngles, cuando estamos bueno, cantamos una canción y escribimos los letras.
Escuchábamos a Justin Bieber, "Never say Never", 8 veces!! Una cosa más, una pregunta popular es, "tienes un pololo?" Todo el mundo me pregunta este.

I have been asked if I know Dracula. haha It's because Pennsylvania sounds like Transylvania. In English class, when we are good, we sing a song and fill in the lyrics. We listened to Justin Bieber, "Never say Never", 8 times!! One more thing, a popular question is, "Do you have a boyfriend?" All the world has asked me this.

En mi casa, durante la semana, tenemos una persona como una criada. Ella cocina, limpia, lava los ropas para nosotros. Es muy agadable y alguno día, le quiere trabajar en los EEUU y estudiar en una universidad. No necesito hacer quehaceres...es raro.

In my house, during the week, we have a person like a house keeper. SHe cooks, cleans, and washes the clothes for us. SHe is very nice and someday, wants to work in the US and study in a university. I don't have to do chores...it's wierd.

Fortuito, pero interesante, es que en cartas, the ace se llama as en español. Pronuncia como "ass". Cuando estamos jugando cartas, es cómico para mi. The suit se llama la pinta.

Random, but interesting, is that in cards, the ace is called as in Spanish. It is pronounced like "ass". When we are palying cards, its funny for me. The suit is called la pinta.

Ahora, la mayor parte del tiempo, no puedo entender muchas palabras pero puedo oír una palabra solo en las frases. Cuando voy a dormir, es defícil a dormirme porque estoy pensando en español pero no sé mucho y repito las fraces muchas veces y me molesto. Pero es un parte más, acerca del sueño español. Y algunas cosas son más facil y más normal para decir en español ahora. Cuando voy a hablar en íngles a una chica del intercambio que no entiendo español, no estoy pensando y empiezo con palabras español.

Now, most of the time, I can't understand many words but I can hear individual words in phrases. When I go to sleep, it hard to fall asleep because I am thinking in Spanish but I don't know much and I repeat the phrases many times and it bothers me. But it is one part more, closer to the dream in spanish. And, some things are easier and more normal to say in spanish now. When I go to speak in English to an exchange girl that doesn't understand Spanish, I'm not thinking and I start with Spanish words.

El jueves pasado, mis compañeras y yo estábamos hablando de sushi y los tipos. Dije que tenemos sushi que es hizo con patas...pero patas son feet! jaja mi primer error grande! (es sushi con papas...potatoes)

Estoy aprendiendo a jugar voleibol porque no se tiene un equiop de fútbol para mujeres, solamente para los hombres. Saltamos mucho, como plyometrics, y es defícil pero bueno.

Estoy cansada más y más cada día porque es mucho trabajo para aprender y entender.

This past Thurday, my classmates and I were talking about sushi and the types. I said that we have sushi that is made with pata...but pata are feet! haha My first big error! (It's sushi with papas...potatoes)

I'm learning to play volleyball because they don't have a girl's soccer team, only for the guys. We jump a lot, like plyometrics, and it's hard but good.

I am more and more tired each day because its a lot of work to learn and understand.

El viernes, mi mama chilena y hermana chilena y yo fuimos al centro comercial (mall). Compré pilas para mi camera. El edificio está grande con diferente tiendas pero tiene mucho de las cosas como Sketchers y otras coasa al mismo también.

Friday, my Chilean mom and Chilean sister and I went to the mall. I bought bateries for my camera. The building is big with different stors but has many of the same things like Sketchers too.

Ayer, yo y otras personas de Rotary construimos una casa en Talagante para una familia del terremoto. Yo tenía mucho divertido, conocí dos otros estudiantes del intercambio y otros chicos, y hablamos mucho.

Yesterday, Other people and I built a house in Talagante for a family of the earthquake. I had a lot of fun, met two other exchange students and other kids, and we talked a lot.

Estoy Aquí

Tengo 20 minutos hasta mi computador se muerde...ójala que puedo escribir todo...en ingles y español...pero pienso que no es posible.

I have 20 minutes until my computer dies... I hope that I can write it all...in english and spanish, but I don´t think that it is possible.

Sabado fue un día loco. No me dormí hasta dos de la mañana y entonces me levanté a las seis! Mi familia fue a la aeropuerto de Filadelfia a las diez. Cuando llegue y reciví mis bletos, Kristina y yo apredemos que el vuelo fue a las cuatro de la tarde. Pensamos que estuvo a las dos! Tenemos tiempo. Nosotros conocemos una chica que va a ir a Argentina y el tiempo vuelvó cuado estábamos hablando.

Saturday was a crazy day. I didn´t sleep until 2 in the morning and then I got up at 6. My family went to the Philly airport at 10. When we arrived I recieved my tickes, Kristina and I learned that our flight was at 4 in the afternoon. We thought that it was at 2. We had time. We got to know a girl that is going to go to Argentina and the timeflew when we talked.

Fuimos a Dallas y fuimos un vuelo más. Conocemos dos chicas que estuvieron en este vuelo y van a estar en el mismo distrito. Dormimos cinco horas en el vuelo y yo reciví mi comido sin gluten! Estaba muy bien...pienso.

We were in Dallas and were on one flight more. We got to know two girls that were on our flight and are going to be in the dame district. I slept for 5 hours on the fight and I recived my food without gluten. It was very good...I think.

Nosotros llegamos a Chile a las siete y cuarto de la mañana. Conocemos nuestros familias alla y tenemos muchos photos.

We arrived in Chile at quarter of 8 in the morning. We met our families there and took many photos.



Ayer, hablamos mucho con mi familia y jugue con el perrito, Rambo. La comida estaba buenisimo y yo dormí para 15 horas. Esta mañana no fui a escuela para descansarme. Mañana voy a ir a escuela y reciveré mi uniformadad.

Yesterday, we talked a lot in the family and played with the puppy, Rambo. The food is very good and I slept for 15 hours. This morning I didn´t go to school in order to rest. Tomorrow I will got to school and recieve my uniform.

Puedo communicar así pero es un poquito deficil, mi familia es muy agadable y comprende.

I can communicate okay but it is a little difficult, my family is very nice and understands.

Tengo dos hermanos...un que fue a los EEUU el año pasado y un que va a ir a EEUU en dos o tres semanas. Tambien, tengo un hemano menor que tiene 12 años.

I have two sisters...one that went to the US this past year and one that is going to go to the US in two or three weeks. Also, I have a younger brother that is 12 years old.

Leaving Soon!

I'll be leaving the USA in 4 days and I'm super excited. I will arrive in Santiago after a red eye flight and when the wheels touch the ground, I'll officially be in another country's jurisdiction. And thus, the adventure begins!
